What the site aims for

cliftonroof.com should work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, screen magnification or voice control. The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

How the site is built

  • Text, links and the yellow call buttons are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios.
  • Every control can be reached with a keyboard, focus is always visible, and a "skip to content" link comes first on each page.
  • Photos have text descriptions; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
  • Pages are organised with headings, lists and landmarks.
  • Animation is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Phone numbers are real links, so they can be dialed with one tap or from assistive technology.

Known limits

The service works by phone. If phoning is hard for you, send an email and you will get help reaching a contractor another way.
